Summer is here and so is our new sculpture!

Summer opening times come into play from today, so head on down to the pool for a refreshing dip! The pool is looking gorgeous and we had a wonderful celebration this morning where Mrs Williams, Head of Newnham Croft Primary School, unveiled the beautiful new sculpture for the pool. What a crowd turnout to see the unveiling!!

The pool will be open from 10am to 6pm every day until 3rd September and we would really like to encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful free facility and spread the word about its existence to friends and family.

The sculpture has many wonderful details showcasing the history and biodiversity of Sheep’s Green. Can you spot Darwin swimming in the Cam and an eel that the children saw swimming in the fish pass?!

The sculpture was the result of a wonderful collaborative project between Rowan and the students of Newnham Croft Primary School, and many local groups including the U3A Naturalist Society, the Newnham Residents Association and Friends of Paradise groups. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in it and we hope it provides enjoyment to those visiting Sheep’s Green for many years to come.
